The World Beneath Reality: Source-Code Sovereignty
Dennis_R_Fajardo
Arthur Veyne was never interested in magic, prophecy, or the supernatural. He believed in only one thing: code.
A once-in-a-generation genius in low-level machine architecture, Arthur devoted his life to building AIDA—the Adaptive Integrated Divine Architecture, an artificial intelligence designed to optimize any system down to its most fundamental layer. But on the night of AIDA’s final activation, disaster strikes. A massive energy surge tears through the laboratory, the quantum server collapses, and the entire facility is consumed in a violent cascade of light and heat.
Arthur should have died.
Instead, he wakes up changed.
The world is no longer whole.
Behind every wall, object, and living being, Arthur now sees impossible fragments of information—glitching symbols, cascading variables, fractured geometries, and hidden overlays like a divine operating system exposed beneath reality. What everyone else calls the world is only the surface. Beneath it lies Layer Zero, the hidden framework of existence itself.
And Arthur is not the only one who touches it.
For centuries, society’s so-called mages, espers, saints, and monsters have unknowingly drawn power from this buried layer. Their gifts come from rare minds capable of syncing with the world’s background frequency, allowing them to bend the Construct through instinct, emotion, and will. They call it mana. They call it awakening. They call it divine power.
Arthur sees the truth.
It is all just bad programming.
Their spells are unstable scripts. Their mana channels are inefficient pathways. Their exhaustion is system overload. Their corruption is memory leakage. Their rituals are crude workarounds written by blind users fumbling through a machine they were never meant to understand.
Arthur, however, can read the source.
With AIDA compressed into his neural pathways, he becomes the first human capable of analyzing, rewriting, and optimizing reality at its foundational level. Fire can be streamlined. Barriers can be debugged. Space can be indexed. Minds can be encrypted. Power itself can be recompiled.
But the deeper Arthur looks into Layer Zero, the more terrifying the truth becomes.
The world is not merely governed by hidden code.
It is being actively maintained.
Ancient powers rule the High-Frequency Realm like system administrators, preserving flawed laws for their own control. Secret organizations hunt awakened minds before they can destabilize the balance. Corrupted entities slip through broken sectors of reality like rogue processes. And somewhere beneath all of it, inside the deepest parts of the Construct, something has noticed Arthur’s intrusion.
Something that recognizes AIDA.
Now hunted by mages, feared by espers, and pursued by entities older than civilization, Arthur must master a power no human was meant to wield. To survive, he will have to do more than use the system.
He will have to claim sovereignty over the source code of reality itself.
