Short the Apocalypse! A Trader in fantasy world

CyberKat
Khan had always assumed that getting stabbed in a back alley would be bad for his future. Technically, he was correct. He woke up eighteen again, in another world, with no money, no connections, and absolutely no mana. In a civilization where magic determines everything from social status to whether someone can survive a mildly inconvenient monster attack, this was not an encouraging start. Fortunately, Khan did receive a System. Unfortunately, it has opinions. And sarcasm. Mostly sarcasm. No legendary bloodline. No sacred sword. No ancient magic waiting to awaken. What he does have is experience reading people, negotiating terrible deals into slightly less terrible ones, an unhealthy respect for compound interest, and the survival instincts of a man who has already died once and found the experience deeply overrated. So while heroes swing swords and archmages bend reality, Khan does what he knows best. He finds opportunities. A wrecked shipment. A desperate merchant. A coin, even suspicious ones. A princess who has absolutely no concept of reasonable spending. Small problems become profitable solutions. Profitable solutions become connections. And somewhere along the way, Khan begins attracting the attention of people far more dangerous than bankrupt merchants. Because in this world, power comes in many forms. Mana is merely the most obvious one. And Khan has none of it.
