Jinhai brushed a stray strand of hair from her face, his fingers trembling. “Lily,” he whispered, desperately. “I want you.”
Her body betrayed her, arching toward him even as her mind screamed no.
“Jinhai…” she breathed, barely above a whisper. “We can’t.”
He gave a small, almost broken laugh. “Then tell me you dont want this.”
But she didn’t.
Her silence was his permission.
Jinhai cupped her face, his thumb brushing the corner of her mouth, his eyes drinking her in with such intensity that Lily squirmed in bed.
“Do you even know what you do to me?” he murmured. “I’ve tried to forget you, Lily. God knows I’ve tried. But every time I see you—every time you look at me with those eyes— I forget everything.”
His hand slid up her camisole, cupping her breast, his hands shaking.
“Jinhai…” she whispered again, her voice trembling this time—from the sheer force of wanting.
This had been the moment she had been dreaming about for a shameful, achingly long time.
Deep down, she already knew.
She was falling for the one man she could never have.

Lily Liang has always been the Liang family’s dirty secret—an illegitimate daughter used as a pawn. When she’s forced into an engagement with the elusive ghost heir of the Shulong empire, Lihyun Shulong, it’s just another gilded cage.
But Jinhai Shulong, Lihyun’s brother has other plans. Knowing his brother's love for another woman and to save his brother from a loveless marriage, he strikes a dangerous deal with Lily: fake a romance, ruin the wedding, walk away clean. To go against what their parents had decided.
It’s supposed to be business. Nothing more.
Until every stolen glance and staged touch feels achingly real. Jinhai can’t stop craving the very woman he’s sworn to use, and Lily can’t tell where the lie ends and the truth begins.
